Jim Bauer and Ruth Bauer awarded grant from the
JONATHAN LARSON PERFORMING ARTS FOUNDATION

We are pleased and honored to announce that Jim Bauer and Ruth Bauer have been awarded a $12,500 grant by the JONATHAN LARSON PERFORMING ARTS FOUNDATION to continue development of their non-traditional music theater work, The Blue Flower. The 2004 awards were announced today at the annual Foundation luncheon in New York City.

Jonathan Larson, the creator of Rent, died suddenly in January 1996 of an undiagnosed aortic aneurysm, just days before the show's first opening at The New York Theatre Workshop. Shortly after, the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation was created to provide financial assistance and encouragement to emerging composers, lyricists and bookwriters, as well as non-profit producing companies with a commitment to developing and supporting the work of new musical theatre projects and musical theatre artists. The Foundation is one of the few places that individual creative artists in the performing arts can go to apply for financial support.
